Overview

There is so much on the market for sleeping that you don't need. Remember that the biggest positive impact on the environment is the choice not to buy unnecessary items. Here are some things that are specifically no longer recommended by the American Academy of Pediatrics:

  • toys in the sleep space
  • positioners to prevent baby from rolling
  • pillows
  • comforters, quilts, or blankets in the sleep space
  • sheepskins
  • breathing or heart monitor
  • wedges (if the purpose is to address SIDS. other medical conditions may make this necessary)
